IP&TV -- ISTB's in 21% of US broadband homes

According to a new analysis from TDG, Internet set-top boxes (iSTBs) such as Apple TV and Roku are now present in 21% of US broadband households, up from 13% in early 2014 (an increase in penetration of 63% in the last year).

IP&TV -- Churn rates “extremely high” for OTTs

In the past 12 months, 4% of US broadband households have cancelled their Netflix service, representing nearly 9% of Netflix’s current subscriber base. By comparison, 7% have cancelled their Hulu Plus subscription within the past 12 months, a figure that represents approximately one-half of Hulu Plus’s current subscriber base.

IP&TV -- Connected TV sets to hit 876 million milestone by 2020

The number of TV sets connected to the Internet will reach 876 million by 2020, up from 105 million at end-2010 and the 415 million expected at end-2015, according to a new report from Digital TV Research.
